I made this cocktail for New Years Eve because we wanted something spicy and refreshing to ring in the new year!

We had a few too many as they are SO good to sip! The sergeant pepper is perfect for any occasion, as it’s refreshing with the cucumber juice and had a good balance of spicy too.

With a small amount of prep work you can prepare the ingredients and then just pour and shake when you’re ready to serve. Check out all of my Tequila Cocktail Recipes!

Ingredients for a Sergeant Pepper Cocktail

Sargent pepper green spicy cocktail with cucumber and jalapeño tequila

Jalapeño-Infused Tequila: Add a few slices of fresh jalapeño to 12 ounces of tequila. Let it infuse for 1 to 8 hours, depending on how spicy you want it. For a mild kick, infuse for just 1 hour. For more heat, leave it overnight. Remove the jalapeños after infusing—your tequila will stay spicy and last for months.

Cucumber Juice: Juice 1–2 large cucumbers. If you don’t have a juicer, blend peeled cucumbers until smooth, then strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Each cocktail needs 2 ounces of cucumber juice.

Fresh Lime Juice: Juice fresh limes for the best flavor. One lime typically yields about 1 ounce of juice. You’ll need 1 ounce per cocktail.

Agave Syrup: This natural sweetener balances the heat and acidity in the cocktail. Use about 1/2 ounce per drink. You can find agave syrup at most grocery stores in the sweetener or cocktail mixer section.

How to Make a Sergeant Pepper Cocktail

1. Make the tequila: Add sliced jalapeños to tequila. Let sit for 1–8 hours, then strain.

2. Make the cucumber juice: Blend peeled cucumbers and strain the juice.

3. Rim the glass: Dip the glass in water, then in salt and cayenne. Use just salt if you don’t want it spicy.

4. Shake: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 30 seconds.

5. Serve: Fill the glass with ice. Strain the cocktail over and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces cucumber juice
  • 2 ounces jalapeño infused tequila
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce agave

Instructions

  • The first step to making this absolutely delicious spicy cocktail is infusing the tequila! This doesn’t take long as jalapeño peppers are so potent. Add 3 slices to 2 cups of tequila and let it infuse for a few hours. You can leave it overnight or if you want a less spicy cocktail leave it for an hour.
  • Next, juice cucumbers! You can do this two ways. If you own a juicer, then do that. If you don’t, blend the cucumbers until liquid then press through sieve.

Making the Cocktail

  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all the ingredients. Shake for 30 seconds until the cocktail is diluted.
  • Rim the glass with a mixture of ground cayenne and salt. Add water around the rim and then dip the glass into a plate of salt and ground cayenne.
  • Fill the glass with ice and strain the cocktail over the ice.

Notes

Make the jalapeño infused tequila and cucumber juice before and store in the refrigerator.
1 cucumber can give you about 6-8 ounces of juice.
