Grapefruit Mimosa Recipe

I love a classic mimosa, but I wanted to try a different version instead of using the beloved fresh-squeezed orange juice, I filled the glass half full with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and a little dash of orange juice… then topped it off with Prosecco.

They are perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch or a leisurely Sunday morning outside. I can’t wait to make more soon!

What is a Mimosa?

A mimosa is a cocktail made from a blend of chilled champagne and citrus juice, typically orange juice. It is celebrated for its light, effervescent quality, making it a favorite choice for brunch and festive occasions.

The drink’s simple yet elegant mix of flavors offers a refreshing burst that enhances any celebration.

Grapefruit Mimosa Ingredients

Fresh Grapefruit Juice: Fill your glass halfway with freshly squeezed juice.

Orange Juice: Squeeze the juice of one orange wedge into the glass (or add a dash for extra citrus flavor).

Champagne or Prosecco: Top off with cold Champagne or Prosecco for that bubbly finish.

How to Make A Grapefruit Mimosa

  1. Pour 2 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice into your glass.
  2. Top off with chilled Champagne or Prosecco.
  3. Add a dash of orange juice.
  4. Gently stir to combine the flavors and enjoy!

Eden’s Recipe Tips

  • Glassware Matters: Use Champagne flutes or tall glasses to keep those delightful bubbles intact.
  • Quality Juice: Always opt for fresh grapefruit juice to enhance the cocktail’s natural zing.
  • Mix with Care: Stir gently to avoid losing the effervescence of your Champagne.
  • Garnish: Add an orange slice on the rim for an extra touch of elegance and flavor.
  • Virgin Twist: For an alcohol-free version, replace Champagne with non-alcoholic sparkling wine to keep it festive without the alcohol.
