Ingredients

Pretzels Rods â€“ Long, round pretzels that are perfect for dipping in chocolate. They are often sold in packages of 12 or 24, and they are a popular snack for parties and holidays. When making this treat, use salty pretzel rods for more flavor.

Chocolate Chips or Candy Melts â€“ You can use any kind of chocolate to make these. We prefer white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips. You will need about 12 oz. of chocolate or candy melts to make this recipe. We like to use white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips, but you can use any kind of chocolate you like.

Halloween Sprinkles – We used these Halloween sprinkles from Amazon, but you can use any kind of sprinkles you like.

Directions

Melt – Using your preferred way of melting, melt chocolate or candy melts until smooth.

Dip – Dip one end of the pretzel into the melted chocolate. You can use a spatula to help push the chocolate up the sides of the pretzels. Let it drip for a minute to remove excess chocolate.

Sprinkle – Add sprinkles to the top of the pretzels while the chocolate is still wet.

Harden – Let the dipped pretzel rods harden on parchment paper before serving. To speed this process up place the pretzels in the fridge for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.

Chocolate and Candy Melts

You can use any chocolate to make Halloween pretzel rods. We prefer white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips, but you can use dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips, or even candy melts.

Three Ways to Melt Chocolate

Microwave Method

The easiest way to melt chocolate is in the microwave. Simply place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave at 15-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

Stovetop Method

If you don’t have a microwave, or if you prefer not to use one, you can melt chocolate on the stovetop. Place a heat-proof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir constantly until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

Double Boiler Method

You can also use a double boiler to melt chocolate. This is a great method if you are melting a large amount of chocolate, or if you want to be sure the chocolate doesn’t burn.

To use a double boiler, fill a pot with a few inches of water and place a heat-proof bowl on top. The bowl should fit snugly on the pot. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir constantly until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
