I love sipping on a good margarita when it’s a beautiful, sunny day, but sometimes margaritas can be a pain to make because of all the ingredients.

There’s also an art to making a good one, as they tend to be either too sweet or too sour. So I simplified the margarita and just added tequila to lemonade.

The great thing about this cocktail, if you’re entertaining, is that you can prepare everything before so you’re not muddling, shaking or mixing during your party. You can easily turn this into a batch cocktail.

Lemonade Margarita Ingredients

Lemonade: You can use store-bought lemonade for ease, but homemade lemonade takes it to the next level – fresh, sweet, and totally worth it if you have the time.

Tequila: A smooth gold or blanco tequila works beautifully in this recipe.

Lime Juice: Always go with fresh-squeezed for the best bright, zesty flavor.

How to Make

Salt the rim of your glass, pour in lemonade, tequila and squeeze a lime wedge.

Stir and then top with ice.

You can use a shaker if you want, but to make it easier you don’t have to.

How To Rim A Glass

Some cocktails call for you to rim the glass and margaritas are a classic example. Rimming the glass is easy and adds an exciting twist to the drink. You can use a rimming dish, but a normal plate will do just fine. Here are the steps:

  • Get two small plates.
  • Fill one with water and one with salt.
  • Dip the rim of the glass straight down into the water, then straight into the salt.

Make a Pitcher of Lemonade Margaritas

This is the easiest batch cocktail recipe and perfect for a large pitcher.

Just multiply the recipe by the number of guests.

Add everything into a pitcher (except the ice) and store it in the refrigerator.

A few minutes before guests arrive, add in the ice and serve!

Recipe Tips

To get accurate measurements, use a jigger or an ounce measuring cup.

Look for the same qualities you enjoy in a sipping or shooting tequila when picking your margarita tequila.

Use medium or coarse salt.

Garnish with lemon zest

Always taste test! Add more or less tequila or lemonade and make it how you like it!

Is the first ingredient supposed to be lemon juice or lemonade? It doesn’t seem logical to add sugar to prepared lemonade.

    Thanks
