Lemon Spritz Recipe with limoncello, Prosecco and fresh lemon juice.

This is a great cocktail to add to a spritz bar, too! I created it to pair with my lemon-themed gathering, and everyone loved it!

Lemon juice adds a bit of acidity, while the Prosecco contributes a light and bubbly effervescence. Finally, soda water or ginger beer gives it an extra refreshing finish.

Now, I pretend to sit in the Amalfi Coast white as I sip this limoncello spritz cocktail. It’s a glass of sunshine, and I love making this beautiful drink for summer gatherings.

This lemon spritz cocktail is perfect for a hot summer day. It’s great for brunch or gatherings with friends. Serve it at a pool summer party, when dining alfresco or at a garden party.

It pairs excellently with appetizers like my cheese or fruit platter or whipped ricotta dip. I also love to serve it with something sweet like Lemon Cupcakes or Lemon Shortbread Cookies.โ€‹

Lemon Spritz Ingredients

This recipe is made with simple ingredients found at local liquor stores and grocery stores.

Fresh Lemon Juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice is best.

Limoncello – Lemon liqueur adds a hint of sweetness. You can also make homemade limoncello and store it in the freezer.

Prosecco – A sparkling white wine lends light bubbles and flavor. Any bottle of Prosecco or white sparkling wine will work for this recipe.

Simple Syrup – To sweeten the lemon spritz without adding too much sugar.

Club Soda or Ginger Beer – You can use soda water for a less sweet cocktail. You could also use tonic water if you prefer that.

Tip – If you prefer the flavor of ginger and a little more sweetness, add ginger beer. Both are delicious! You can also use flavored sparkling water such as lemon or elderflower.

  • Herbs – Thyme sprigs, rosemary sprigs, or a little oregano all look beautiful in a spritz.
  • Lemon Wheel or Lemon Peel – Fresh lemon slices look pretty inside the cup.

  • 3 ounces Prosecco
  • 1 ounce club soda, or ginger beer.

Instructions

Notes

If serving this drink in a coupe, shake it for 30 seconds to make it extra cold.ย
Use chilled ingredients for a perfectly chilled limoncello spritz. You can even make Prosecco ice cubes by pouring the bubbly into an ice cube tray and freezing it overnight.
Keep your drink fizzy by storing leftover open bottles in the fridge with a metal spoon inside (handle side down). This will help preserve the bubbles for your next serving.
Make a pitcher of limoncello spritz and pour it into individual glasses once all the ingredients are combined. This method also allows for easier refills during gatherings or parties.
If serving it in a wine glass, serve it over ice to keep it cool.
