If you love a refreshing spritz, this apple spritz made with apple cider is perfect for fall! An easy cocktail that is not only delicious but light and refreshing!
Fall is officially here and that means cooler weather, changing leaves, and of course… apple cider! This year we’re mixing things up a bit with our favorite fall drink – the Apple Cider Spritz. Made with Lillet, lemon juice, apple cider, and Prosecco, this cocktail is light, refreshing, and perfect for sipping on a cool autumn day.
There is nothing better than apple cider cocktails during the fall! It’s a time when the weather is cooling, but you’re still wanting a refreshing, spritz drink to enjoy. So we made this apple spritz for those afternoons when you just need a good drink to sip.
The flavors of the apple cider and Prosecco go so well together. The Lillet Rose adds light aromas of berries, orange blossom, and grapefruit. You can also use Lillet Blanco for this recipe too.
It’s a great cocktail to serve at a fall festival or even Thanksgiving as it’s simple to make.

Table of Contents
A spritz is a refreshing drink made with wine or spirits and something bubbly like sparkling water or Prosecco. It’s perfect for any season, but we especially love it in the fall.
How to make an Apple Cider Spritz
You’ll need a few simple ingredients to make this drink. I always keep bitters and Lillet on hand to make drinks. You can find them at your local liquor store and they have a long shelf life. You can pick up the apple cider and lemons from your local grocery store.
Lillet Rose – You can use rose or Blanco for this recipe. This sweet liqueur pairs perfectly with apple juice and Prosecco.
Lemon Juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice is always the best.
Apple Cider – You can find apple cider at most grocery stores.
Prosecco – Use any type of Prosecco for this recipe. It doesn’t need to be fancy. We love Riondo for this.
Bitters – A dash of bitters is what we use for this. We use lavender bitters that taste really good. You can use any bitters you have.
Directions
Fill a large wine glass with lots of ice.
Add Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, and apple cider to the glass.
Add 3 drops or dashes of the bitters.
Top with Prosecco and enjoy!
Tips for Making an Apple Spritz

- For a less sweet drink, add more Prosecco.
- If you want a stronger drink, add more Apple Cider.
- If you want a weaker drink, add a splash of club soda.
Cocktail Garnishes
One of the best things about making cocktails at home is that you can get creative with the garnishes. For this Apple Cider Spritz, we like to garnish with a slice of orange, lemon or apple. You can even add a cinnamon stick in there for a fall feel.
Here are some more options:
- Dehydrated Orange Slice
- Edible Flower
- Orange Peel
- Mint Sprigs
But feel free to get creative and use whatever you have on hand. Rosemary, thyme, or even a slice of lemon would be great.
Apple Cider vs Apple Juice
Apple cider is made from freshly pressed apples and has a cloudy appearance. Juice is made from concentrate and has a clear appearance. For this recipe, we recommend using apple cider as it has a fresher flavor.
All About Prosecco
Prosecco is a type of Italian white wine that is light and sparkling. It is made from the grape variety Glera and is typically dry with a slightly fruity flavor. It’s a popular choice for cocktails and spritzes because of its refreshing taste.

Frequently Asked Questions

A good alternative to Lillet is St. Germain or an Elderflower Liqueur. You can also use an apple liqueur for this recipe too.
What makes a drink a spritz?
A spritz is a refreshing drink made with wine or spirits and something bubbly like sparkling water or Prosecco. It normally has a bitter liqueur and bubbles.
Does a spritz have alcohol?
Yes, a spritz contains alcohol. In this Apple Spritz recipe, we use Lillet Rose which is an alcoholic liqueur. There is also Prosecco as well.
Can I use sparkling white wine instead of Prosecco?
You can use sparkling white wine if you don’t have Prosecco on hand. Prosecco is sweeter and we like it better for this drink as there is no additional sugar added. If you use white wine it will be less sweet.
