An aperitivo party is one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to entertain at home, and I truly can’t recommend this theme enough. It was so fun!! For this Italian-inspired evening, I served a mix of simple appetizers, a few favorite desserts, and refreshing Italian drinks, all styled with an Amalfi Coast vibe full of lemons, fresh flowers, and charming coastal details!

Pin ItFor my husband’s birthday (he’s Italian and a Pisces), I wanted something that felt special but still relaxed. I leaned into a coastal Italian vibe with citrus, fish accents, and candlelight, and it truly was one of my favorite party themes to date!
What I love most about this type of party is that you really don’t have to cook anything. I’m very much in my no-cook entertaining era, creating beautiful gatherings with simple appetizers and thoughtfully assembled ingredients. It’s all about prepping ahead, styling everything beautifully, and letting guests help themselves.
You can make a few simple recipes if you want, but you absolutely don’t need to. Everything comes together so easily, and it ended up being one of those nights where everything felt effortless and perfect.

Why I Love an Aperitivo Party Theme
- No cooking required – everything is prepped or simply assembled Effortless hosting – you’re free to enjoy the party
- Perfect for grazing – guests can snack and mingle
- Colorful and fun – a playful Amalfi Coast vibe with citrus and nautical details
- Elevated but simple – beautiful without being complicated
Aperitivo Party Menu

Here’s everything I served for our Italian-inspired evening. It’s a mix of easy-to-make favorites and high-quality store-bought additions.
I went to Epicurious Gourmet in Los Angeles, an import store filled with the most delicious goods from Italy and beyond, and stocked up on crackers, chips, and all the best little bites. You can easily find similar items at local import shops or even on Amazon.
- Whipped Ricotta: Creamy, simple, and perfect with bread (link)
- Lemon Pasta from Entertaining with Charm: Made with smaller noodles for easy, bite-sized serving.
- Charcuterie Board: Loaded with meats, cheeses, and marinated olives.
- Cheese Platter: An easy, elevated grazing board.
- Caprese Salad with Mozzarella Balls: Fresh, simple, and always a hit.
- Italian Crackers: Especially these, which are imported from Italy and make it feel like you are in Italy!
- Truffle Potato Chips: These are also a must; they’re SO good!
- Panzanella: A bright and flavorful Tuscan bread salad to balance everything.
- Caviar Platter + Sardines: Served straight from the tin for a fun, coastal touch.
- Truffle Potato Chips with Prosciutto: Salty, rich, and so good!
Italian Make-Ahead Desserts

- Orange Ricotta Cake: Super flavorful and easy to make
- Ricotta Cheesecake: You can make this the day before, and it’s SO good!
Italian Aperitivo Drinks to Serve
I kept the bar simple and self-serve so I wasn’t making drinks all night.
- Aperol Spritz
- Hugo Spritz Recipe
- Lemon Mule or an Italian Paloma
- Italian White Wine – I served Saladini Pilastri Falerio, Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio and Vento Vermentino Maremma Toscana.
- Italian Beer – I served Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Menabrea Ambrata.
- Siciliana Sicilian Sparkling Drinks – Blood Orange and Lemon!
- For a mocktail option, serve an Italian Soda bar!
How to Set Up an Aperitivo Bar

A self-serve bar is key for this kind of gathering and makes hosting so much easier.
- Pre-make a large batch of the lemon mules and serve it in a dispenser.
- Garnish drinks with dehydrated citrus.
- Add ice buckets and drink stirrers to the bar.
- Offer only Italian wine, Italian beer, and one signature cocktail (something with lemons is perfect)
- Add a custom drink tag (I ordered them off Etsy!) or write names on each glass so guests always know which drink is theirs, keeping things organized, preventing waste, and saving you from going through a million extra glasses.
- If you need more room, fill a wheelbarrow with ice to serve Italian beer!

Eden’s Hosting Tips
Prep everything the before so you can enjoy the party!
Focus on assembly over cooking. The recipes I share are easy and perfect for this party, but you can also buy pre-made appetizers!
Have one signature batch cocktail, Aperol Spritzes, Italian beer, and Italian wine. Also, have a non-alcoholic drink available, too, like Sicilian sodas or Italian Sodas.
Mix easy appetizers with high-quality store-bought items.
Have music on when guests arrive. If you need help, I made an Italian Happy Hour playlist on Spotify that you can download.
