Easy entertaining is my thing, and this pineapple vodka cocktail might be the easiest drink I make. Three ingredients, three minutes, and it tastes like a little vacation in a glass. It’s the drink I reach for on pool days and summer dinners!

Light and tropical. Just like my jungle bird and coconut mojito. Fruity, bright, a little bit beachy.
Three ingredients. That’s it. Sweet pineapple juice, smooth vodka, fresh lime.
Perfect for parties. It batches beautifully, just like my pineapple crush cocktail. Mix a pitcher ahead and pour as guests arrive.
Always a win. If you love my mango margarita or grapefruit martini, this one is going straight into your rotation.
Pineapple Vodka Ingredients

Pineapple juice (4 oz per drink). Use 100% pineapple juice with no added sugar. Dole is my go-to because the flavor is clean and tropical. Fresh-squeezed is lovely if you want to make it from scratch. Just blend chopped pineapple and strain through a fine mesh sieve.
Vodka (2 oz per drink). With only three ingredients, you’ll taste your vodka, so pick a good one. Tito’s or Grey Goose are both smooth and clean. Plain vodka lets the pineapple do the talking, but pineapple vodka doubles down on the tropical flavor, and vanilla vodka is so good it’s almost a dessert.
Fresh lime juice (½ oz per drink). About half a lime squeezed right in.
How to Make a Pineapple Vodka Cocktail

Step 1: Add 2 oz vodka, 4 oz pineapple juice, and ½ oz fresh lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Step 2: Shake vigorously for 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.
Step 3: Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
Step 4: Garnish with a pineapple slice, lime wheel, or a pineapple flower for a beautiful finishing touch.
Optional: For a stunning ombré effect, slowly pour a splash of grenadine (about ¼ oz) down the inside edge of the glass after pouring. It will sink to the bottom, creating a gorgeous red-to-yellow gradient.
For the ombré effect: Slowly pour about ¼ oz of grenadine down the inside edge of the glass after the cocktail is in. It sinks to the bottom and creates the prettiest red-to-yellow gradient. Do not stir. The whole point is the layers.
How to Make a Sugared Rim
Rub a lime wedge or pineapple slice around the rim of your glass. Dip the rim into a plate of sugar to coat. Let it sit for a minute to set, then pour in your cocktail. It’s such a small thing and it makes the drink look like you tried way harder than you did.

Pineapple Vodka Variations
Vanilla vodka makes it taste like a pineapple creamsicle. So good.
Coconut vodka turns it into a beach in a glass. Basically a skinny piña colada.
Sparkling water on top lightens it up if you want something extra refreshing.
Spicy vodka adds a little unexpected heat. Great for taco nights.
Fresh mint or basil in the glass takes it from easy to fancy in one step.
How to Make a Pitcher (Serves 8)
This is one of the best cocktails to batch ahead for a party, and I do it all the time. Multiply everything by eight:
- 2 cups (16 oz) vodka
- 4 cups (32 oz) pineapple juice
- Juice of 4 limes
Stir it all together in a pitcher and refrigerate for up to 4 hours. When guests arrive, pour over glasses of fresh ice and add a splash of grenadine to each if you want the ombré look.
One thing: do not put ice in the pitcher. It dilutes the cocktail as it sits. Always ice the glasses, never the pitcher.
Make It a Mocktail
Skip the vodka and swap in an equal amount of sparkling water, coconut water, or ginger beer. The pineapple juice and lime carry the flavor beautifully, so you still get a light, tropical drink without the alcohol. I love doing this when I’m hosting a mixed crowd. Make the pitcher without vodka and set the bottle on the side so guests can add their own.
FAQs
The classic ratio is 1 part vodka to 2 parts pineapple juice, so 2 oz vodka to 4 oz pineapple juice per cocktail. If you want it stronger, go 1:1.5. If you want it lighter for a tall glass, try 1:3. A squeeze of fresh lime balances any ratio you land on.
Vodka, rum, and tequila are all beautiful with pineapple juice. You can also add a splash of cranberry, orange, or mango juice to play around with the flavor.
Yes, and this is one of my favorite cocktails to prep ahead. Mix the whole pitcher up to 4 hours before your party and keep it in the fridge. Pour over fresh ice at serving time.
Pour your cocktail over ice first, then hold the glass at a slight angle and slowly pour about ¼ oz of grenadine down the inside edge of the glass. Grenadine is heavier than the cocktail, so it sinks to the bottom, creating that pretty ombré gradient. Don’t stir.
Can I make this as a mocktail?
Absolutely. Replace the vodka with sparkling water, coconut water, or ginger beer. The pineapple juice and lime still do all the flavor work.
Is this cocktail sweet?
It’s fruity but not overly sweet, especially with the fresh lime balancing the pineapple juice. If you like things a little sweeter, add a splash of grenadine or simple syrup.
