This spooky Halloween cocktail blends gin, cranberry juice, and club soda, delivering a crisp, refreshing taste with an eerie twist. The lychee “eyeballs” and a drizzle of grenadine create a haunting visual that will leave your guests both impressed and slightly unsettled!
There’s something magical about Halloween, from the spooky decorations to the excitement of trick-or-treating and the spooky ambiance that takes over every gathering. Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party or enjoying a cozy night, I have the perfect spooky cocktail to add a little thrill to your night.
This fun and festive drink blends the tartness of cranberry juice with the refreshing fizz of club soda, all elevated by a smooth gin base.
But the real showstopper? A creatively creepy garnish made from lychees and blueberries that looks like eerie eyeballs staring back at you! I use these lychee eyeballs in my lychee martini, too, and they’re my favorite way to add a little spooky charm.
Spooky Halloween Cocktail Ingredients
Simple Syrup: Just the right amount of sweetness to perfectly balance out the tart cranberry juice and the boldness of gin, ensuring a harmonious flavor profile.
Gin: A smooth and sophisticated spirit that pairs beautifully with the tartness of cranberry juice, elevating the cocktail to a new level of elegance.
Cranberry Juice: This adds a tangy flavor while giving the drink a rich, blood-red hue – perfect for Halloween!
Club Soda: Adds some light fizz and refreshes the drink, making it easy to sip while enjoying all those bold flavors.
Lychees and Blueberries (for garnish): These are used to garnish the creepy eyeball and give this drink a spooky touch! You can also use grapes to make these. Cut the blueberry or grape in half and then stuff it into the lychee.
Grenadine Syrup: Drizzle a grenadine to the top for a “dramatic blood-like” effect. It creates that spooky Halloween look while adding a hint of sweet pomegranate. You can make your grenadine too!
Tips and Variations
- Chill the Glass: Chill your glass before serving for a refreshingly cold drink.
- Adjust Sweetness: Add more or less simple syrup or grenadine, depending on how sweet you like it.
- Non-Alcoholic Version: Skip the gin and add extra cranberry juice or club soda for a tasty mocktail.
- Garnish Creativity: Swap blueberries for grapes or blackberries in the lychee “eyes” for a spookier look.
- Pre-Make for Parties: Mix everything except the club soda in advance. When it’s time to serve, top with soda to keep it fizzy.
- Sparkling Twist: Use Prosecco or sparkling wine instead of club soda for a bubbly variation.
