It was fantastic! The perfect balance of sweet and tart, with a hint of spookiness, set the mood for the party. This is an easy vampire drink that everyone will love!
What is Chambord?
Table of Contents
If you’ve never had Chambord, it’s a French liqueur that’s made with blackberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants. It’s sweet and has a rich, fruity flavor. It’s the perfect addition to this Halloween cocktail!
You can find this at most liquor stores and it’s great to keep on hand to make cocktails. I also love to add a little Chambord into a glass of Champagne. It adds more tartness and fruitiness.
How to Make a Vampire’s Kiss Cocktail
This is a fun Halloween cocktail that is easy to make! The full vampire’s kiss cocktail recipe is in the recipe card below.
Tools
Here are a few tools you’ll need:
Ingredients
Vodka – Use your favorite plain vodka for this recipe. You can even use raspberry vodka or vanilla vodka for more flavor.
Cranberry Juice – Use sweetened cranberry juice. If you use unsweetened cranberry juice this drink will be very tart and not sweet! You can also use sweetened cherry juice for this recipe.
Chambord – This is a liqueur you can find at your local liquor store. If you can’t find it, Crème de cassis is a great alternative.
Directions
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour all of the ingredients into the shaker.
Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. This dilutes the cocktail.
Strain into a coupe glass.
Dry Ice
If you want to give the cocktail a spooky vibe, you can add some dry ice to this vampire’s kiss cocktail. Dry ice is a solid form of carbon dioxide. It’s used to create a smoky effect in cocktails.
You can find it at your local grocery store. It’s easy to use and looks so cool! Just add a few small pieces of dry ice to your glass and watch as the smoke billows out. It’s the perfect touch to this Halloween cocktail!
How to Safely Use Dry Ice
- Dry ice is very cold and can cause burns. Be sure to handle it with gloves and use tongs to place it in your drink.
- Do not touch it with your bare hands. Do not put dry ice in a sealed container as it can cause the container to explode.
- Use small pieces of dry ice and be sure to add it just before serving.
- Dry ice will only last a few hours in the freezer, so you have to buy it the day you are going to serve it. It will evaporate in the bag after 1 day!
Tips for Making the Best Vampire Cocktail
- Make sure to shake the drink for 20 seconds with ice. This mixes the ingredients and dilutes the cocktail.
- Add edible glitter if you want a shimmer!
- If you like a sweeter drink, add a little simple syrup to the drink.
- Add a little fresh lime juice or lemon juice into the drink for some more tartness.
- Add a splash of ginger ale for some bubbles.
Festive Vampire Kiss Cocktail Garnishes
It’s all about the spooky garnishes! Here are some ideas to make a festive drink:
Gummy Eyeballs or Vampire Fang – I love using Vampire teeth to garnish this drink! You can also use gummy eyes too. Add them to a cocktail skewer and place them on top of the drink.
Black Berries and Raspberries – Since Chambord is made with berries, fresh berries add a nice touch to the cocktail.
Black Sprinkles or Red Sugar Sprinkles – Line the rim with black sprinkles for a festive look.
Fake Blood – Rim the glass with some grenadine to look like fake blood.
Make it Ahead of Time
If you’re making this vampire’s kiss cocktail for a party, you can make it ahead of time. I love to do this as it saves me time measuring and making a mess during the party.
Simply multiply the drink by the number of guests, then measure the ingredients and shake in a large cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain the mix into a small pitcher and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve. Add the dry ice just before serving. This drink is best enjoyed within an hour of making it.
For a Non-Alcoholic Version
To make this vampire’s kiss cocktail without alcohol, simply omit the vodka and Chambord. Add a few drops of red food coloring to give it that spooky red color. You can also use cherry juice instead of cranberry.
