Candy corn shots are a must for any Halloween party! I infused vodka with the classic orange-and-yellow candy to create a fun, festive treat that’s sweet, nostalgic, and guaranteed to be a hit!

Be sure to check out my Jolly Rancher shot, gummy bear shot, green tea shot, lemon drop shot, and birthday cake shot too!

Did you know candy corn was originally called chicken feed? It’s been around since the 1800s and was made by hand—wild, right? Now that we’re grown-ups, we get to enjoy it in cocktail form!

These candy corn shots are the perfect mix of nostalgic and fun. Serve these shots at a vintage Halloween party, a ghostly dinner party, or a Halloween movie night. These shots are great for any Halloween gathering.

Candy Corn Shot Ingredients

  • 1 (11 oz) bag of candy corn
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle of vodka (Tito’s or Reyka work great!)

How to Make Candy Corn Shots

1. Infuse the vodka: Pour the vodka into a large mason jar and add the full bag of candy corn. Seal the lid and refrigerate for 24–48 hours. The candy melts into the vodka, turning it the prettiest orange color and adding that nostalgic candy corn flavor.

2. Prep your test tubes: While the vodka is infusing, get your test tubes ready. I use these cute glass ones with lids—they’re reusable and so fun for Halloween. You can also go classic with regular shot glasses if that’s more your vibe.

3. Strain + pour: Once infused, pour the candy corn vodka into a bowl or measuring cup with a spout (a funnel helps too!). Carefully fill each test tube and seal with the lid. That’s it!

4. Chill + serve: Make them the day before your party and store them in the fridge. When it’s time to serve, pop the test tubes into a bowl of ice so they stay nice and cold. Or—my favorite party trick—have someone hand them out at the door as guests arrive. It’s such a fun way to set the tone!

Recipe Tips & Variations

  • Switch the Spirit: I love vodka for these, but you can totally use gin or go tropical with Malibu for a coconut-candy vibe.
  • Soften the Booze: If it’s a little strong, add a splash of orange juice after the infusion – it smooths things out and adds a citrusy twist.
  • No Test Tubes? No problem! Just serve them in classic shot glasses. Still festive, still fun.

Ingredients

  • 750 ml vodka
  • 1 cup candy corn

Instructions

  • In a jar, add the candy corn and 750ml vodka.
  • Let the candy corn infuse the vodka for 3 days.
  • The vodka will be a bright orange color and the candy corns will start to lose their coloring.
  • Next, strain the mixture over a sieve into a large bowl with a spout to remove the candy corn.
  • You’ll be left with an orange, candy corn flavored vodka
  • Pour the candy corn vodka into a bowl with a spout. Slowly, pour the vodka into the glass test tube. If you need to use a funnel you can do that too.
  • Close them up with the lid and continue filling. Make these a day before the party and store them in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to serve them, place them in a bowl filled with ice to keep them chilled.
