How to Make A Thanksgiving Mocktail

Supplies

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Cocktail Jigger
  • Small Glass

Shopping List and Ingredient Notes

This recipe uses simple ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store.

Rosemary Simple Syrup – Making a homemade rosemary simple syrup is easy to do and adds a lot of flavor to the drink.

Cranberry Juice –  You can use store-bought cranberry juice but make sure it’s sweetened. The unsweetened cranberry juice is very tart and bitter.

Apple Cider – Apple cider adds all of the fall flavors to this drink.

Lime Juice – We always add citrus to the drink to give it some acidity. You can also use orange juice or lemon juice if you prefer.

Zero Proof Spirit – This is optional but adds a botanical flavor to the mocktail.

Directions

  • Make the rosemary simple syrup by simmering 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 2 large sprigs of rosemary in a small saucepan. Once the sugar has dissolved, let the rosemary infuse for 10 minutes. Then strain the syrup into a glass bottle.
  • Add all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Shake for 20 seconds, then strain into a glass filled with ice.
  • Strain into a pretty glass and add a garnish.

Tips for Making The Best Thanksgiving Mocktail

Add more or less simple syrup depending on how sweet you like the drink.

If you don’t have a zero-proof spirit, you can leave it out. The drink will still be delicious.

Make sure to use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.

Add a dash of pumpkin pie spice over the top.

Zero-Proof Spirits

If you want to add a botanical flavor to your Thanksgiving mocktail, we recommend using a zero-proof spirit. This is a non-alcoholic spirit that is made without any alcohol. There are several brands that you can use. I like

Mocktail Garnishes

It’s all about the garnish when it comes to cocktails and mocktails. For this Thanksgiving mocktail, we like to garnish it with a sprig of rosemary and an edible flower. You can also use any of these garnishes:

  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Fresh Thyme
  • Apple Slices
  • Cinnamon Sticks

Notes

Making a simple syrup is easy! Just follow our guide, using 2 large rosemary sprigs. You can save this in the refrigerator for 1 week to make cocktails!
We love adding zero-proof spirits in the drink, however, you can make this without as well. I do recommend having it on hand if you make a lot of mocktails though!
Instead of lime juice try lemon juice or orange juice too.
