4th of July Spiked Jello Shots are a must at your 4th of July party! Guests will love these red, white and blue jello shots. Three layers of spiked jello is a beautiful glass shot glass. Serve with min spoons and enjoy!

red white and blue jello shot layered in a glass shot glass.

We use a basic formula for our jello shot recipe. It’s easy to make and even better to eat! This red, white and blue jello shot is served in a slanted shot glass from Crate and Barrel. Eat them with a spoon rather than “tossing” one back. It adds a little class and charm to the jello shot.

How to Make 4th of July Jello Shots

Ingredients for Jello Shots

  • Vodka
  • Gelatin
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Blue Jello
  • Cherry Jello or Strawberry Jello
  • Boiling Water

Directions for Jello Shots

  • Pour vodka into a bowl or container.
  • Sprinkle 1 envelope of unflavored gelatin over the vodka.
  • Let it stand for about 1 minute and then whisk.
  • Add berry blue flavored Jello and pour in 1 cup of boiling water.
  • Stir until the gelatin completely dissolves.
  • Pour the blue Jello into the shot glass and place them in the refrigerator. It’s easier if you set the shot glasses cake pan and then place the cake pan in the refrigerator.
  • Refrigerate for about 20 minutes or until the gelatin is firm enough to add the next layer.
  • Make the white layer using the directions below and pour that over the already set blue jello.
  • Repeat the process with the red jello and then let it set in the refrigerator.

How long does it take jello shots to set?

Let each layer set about an hour before adding a new layer over the top. It take 2-5 hours for jello shots to set. You can also leave them in the refrigerator overnight.

How do you take jello shots?

Although there are several ways to serve a jello shot… plastic cup, cut into squares, jello shot syringes, we serve these with tiny spoons for guests to use with their shot glass. It’s a classy version of a jello shot!
